A secondary pathway (https://ssw.umich.edu/programs/msw/pathways/secondary-pathway ) is optional. Students that choose a second pathway must have adequate elective credits available to complete coursework for their second pathway. Students must complete the Change in Pathway Request Form located at https://ssw.umich.edu/assets/change-in-pathway/ in order to add, drop, or change their secondary pathway.

Please note that even without declaring a secondary pathway, students may take clusters of electives to allow them to explore various practice areas.
